The Regional Behavioral Health Center at Auburn specializes in caring for adults, age 50 and older, with emotional or cognitive health problems. The center includes two nursing units: the Emotional Wellness Unit and the Memory Wellness Unit.
The program staff includes a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers and therapists who work together to help guide patients through their inner struggles.
Our assessment includes identifying both emotional assets and deficits, and developing a detailed recommendation for further care, while we carefully help plan each patient’s post-hospitalization transition to home and the community.

Emotional Wellness Unit
The Emotional Wellness Unit at The Regional Behavioral Health Center at Auburn helps adults who have severe depression, sadness, anxiety, thoughts of death or other severe emotional struggles. We work to develop and nurture relationships with every patient to promote their engagement in self-recovery, treatment and a successful transition back into the community.

Memory Wellness Unit
The Memory Wellness Unit at The Regional Behavioral Health Center at Auburn helps meet the emotional and physical needs of adults who are unable to provide their own care as a result of cognitive impairment, memory loss or dementia. Our specially trained staff strives to enhance quality of life for those with behavioral conditions such as:
- Disorganized thoughts and confusion, delusions and/or hallucinations
- Anxiety, agitation and aggression
- Pacing, exit-seeking and leaving without authorization
- Inappropriate urination or defecation
- Yelling, screaming and/or calling 911
- Refusing or resisting nutrition
- Refusing or resisting care
- Resisting or refusing medications
- New inappropriate or hypersexual behavior
- Poor sleeping patterns
